Through the Heat and the Haunts

There are things that go bump in the night,
But most of them give your contractor a fright.
That creak in the floorboards, that rattle, that moan –
The AC unit giving up its throne.

The HOA letter that came in October,
The hidden defect that you didn't discover.
The roof that decided it needed attention,
The pool pump that quit without any intention.

These are Tampa Bay's true haunted tales –
Not goblins or witches, but permits and nails.
The ghost of the summer storm still lingers here,
In the fence that you fixed and the yard you held dear.

But here's what we know, and we'll say it with pride:
You faced every challenge with loved ones inside.
You fixed what was broken, you stood your ground –
That's the bravest thing in this town to be found.

So hang up the pumpkins, enjoy the night –
Your home is your castle, secure and bright.
From us to you, a Halloween cheer:
The real trick is owning in Tampa Bay this year.
